About the role:

This is a full-time hybrid role as a Senior Data Engineer at Baltini in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Data Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as data modeling, Extract Transform Load (ETL), data warehousing, and data analytics. They will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines that enable faster, better, and more accurate data-informed business decisions. The Data Engineer will also work closely with the Operations team to ensure data attributes are properly collected, fulfilled, measured, and reported.

What You Will Do:

• Work closely with the product team to understand business objectives and product requirements specific to the luxury fashion industry.
• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sources to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities related to luxury fashion ecommerce.
• Develop and maintain backend data pipelines and infrastructure to support data analysis and reporting for our luxury fashion platform.
• Build predictive models and algorithms to optimize product features, pricing strategies, and personalized recommendations for luxury fashion brands.
• Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and compelling data visualizations, reports, and presentations tailored to the luxury fashion industry.
• Design and Implement Data Solutions by utilizing your knowledge of data modeling and warehousing to design and build robust data pipelines, optimizing for speed, accuracy, and scalability.
• Develop and maintain efficient and reliable ETL processes to facilitate seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
• Work closely with Operations & Product Management stakeholders, ensuring that data requirements are met, and analytics solutions are aligned with business goals.
• Leverage your SQL skills and data analytics expertise to analyze data sets, providing actionable insights and comprehensive reports for informed decision-making.
• Take responsibility for the accurate collection, measurement, and reporting of data points, maintaining the integrity and reliability of data throughout the pipeline.
• Utilize your proficiency in cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and the UNIX environment to manage and optimize data storage and processing.
• Contribute to root cause analysis for data issues, and continuously seek opportunities to improve data systems and processes.
• Analyze and complete boutique data, while improving mapping preprocessing to minimize manual work.
• Clean raw data from boutiques before integrating it into our database and presenting it in the ERP.
• Create reusable patterns to standardize attribute data for our catalog.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in big data, maintaining a competitive edge and contributing to the company's growth in the e-commerce sector.

Kualifikasi:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Data Engineer role, coupled with a graduate degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Statistics
• A genuine passion and expertise in big data stacks, and scripting languages including Python
• A deep understanding of data concepts, including message queuing, stream processing, and big data data stores, alongside robust SQL skills for query authoring
• Proficiency in database structures, data warehousing, and data mining, along with experience in navigating cloud platforms (with a preference for GCP) and the UNIX environment
• Familiar with REST API
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing data analytics solutions and the optimization of big data pipelines
• Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices and an added advantage is expertise in root cause analysis for data-related issues
• Strong analytical skills, the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership
• Excellent in oral and written communication and good at collaborative working
• Great service-minded and self-driven attitude
• Strong in critical thinking and project management
• Independent problem-solving skills and statistical analysis techniques required
• Exposure working in e-commerce industry is a plus
